Sun is the founder of Eclipsee Entertainment LLC, a Baltimore-registered production company dedicated to producing short films, serialized digital narratives, and vertical drama series for platforms targeting Gen Z viewers. Since its founding in 2022, Eclipsee has collaborated with emerging streaming networks and creative teams across the U.S. and Asia-Pacific region.

A graduate of Johns Hopkins University’s Film and Media program, Sun began his career in traditional short film production, gaining early recognition as a producer on Maybe Next Year (2023), a narrative short that explored intergenerational longing and post-pandemic isolation. The film won Best Producer at the San Francisco Arthouse Short Festival, Best Quarantine Story at the Sydney Indie Short Festival, and was nominated at multiple international festivals, including Tokyo, Paris, and Stockholm.

While his early accolades established him within the indie film world, Sun has since shifted his focus toward mobile-first storytelling, a format optimized for platforms like TikTok-style series apps and vertical drama hubs. Over the past two years, Sun has written, directed, or co-produced over ten vertical series, each amassing over 600,000 views. His narrative structure, built on short emotional arcs, cliffhangers, and cross-cultural motifs, has resonated with audiences in both English- and Mandarin-speaking markets.

“Vertical drama isn’t just a format—it’s a new language,” Sun explains. “You only have seconds to create emotional impact, so every beat, every cut matters. I treat it like micro-cinema.”

Among his recent collaborations are serialized projects with Goodshort, Dramabox, and Shortmax, where Sun has served as both director and creative consultant. His contributions include shaping story arcs, adjusting dialogue pacing for vertical viewing, and training new writers to think in platform-native structures. At Goodshort, Sun was brought on to develop original English-language storylines rooted in East Asian romantic tropes for a Western audience.

His original screenplay Deep Blue, a speculative short about memory extraction in a futuristic world, was selected as a quarterfinalist at the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards and received a perfect score (5/5) from the Golden Script Awards in the categories of Concept, Dialogue, and Story. The project is slated for production under Eclipsee in early 2026.

Sun’s most recent independent work, The Wild Geese Passing By, is a poetic 16mm short film exploring themes of queer memory, absence, and familial silence. Shot in New York and currently in postproduction, the film represents Sun’s return to experimental narrative work, even as he continues to lead high-volume digital content pipelines.

In addition to directing and writing, Sun also serves as a consultant for short-form drama platforms looking to expand into cross-border content creation. His bilingual ability, understanding of both Western and Asian narrative styles, and extensive on-set experience make him a key collaborator for emerging content studios.
