When the full scope of the destruction became clear and urgent assistance was required in the aftermath of the Jeseníky disaster, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers quickly sprang into action. On the evening of September 17th, a group made up of both Scientology and non Scientology volunteers reached the area. They began their display of kindness by tidying up the Jeseníka Elementary School of Arts and proceeded to offer families without electricity power generators.
Within days, the volunteers were cleaning homes in the village of Písečná, laboring diligently as they transported bulky equipment, such as pumps and mud vacuums, often hundreds of meters due to washed-out roads.
From their arrival until their departure on September 28th, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers achieved contributed with the following:
- Cleared more than 120 buildings of mud and water
- Assisted nearly 200 families in returning to their homes
- Delivered four vans of humanitarian aid
- Provided approximately 100 “assists”—one-to-one spiritual support, developed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, for those struggling with the emotional impact of the disaster
- Logged over 3,000 volunteer hours

In the closing days of their mission, the volunteers even cleaned the local playground, multifunctional playground, football field, and transport playground, ensuring that children could resume their play and activities.
